We’ve been using this alert system to keep on top of breaking events around Leesburg and Loudoun Co. for quite some while, but it seems a lot of people don’t know it exists. It’s saved enormous amounts of time in traffic by sending alerts via SMS and e-mail about Goose Creek flooding, County building bomb threats, accidents, fires, etc. It’s also the best way to get rapid notifications about disaster response, etc. It takes about 2 minutes to sign up and every local resident should subscribe. The updates are minimal and only sent when needed. No excuses! Go do it!
